William De Morgan Parrot tile Keyring

Exclusive to Leighton House

Enamel keyring from our exclusive Arab Hall range. Featuring detail from the decorative parrot tile panel from the south wall of the Arab Hall, Leighton House. A perfectly sized gift from Leighton House.

The original tile panel was made in Damascus in the 16th Century. Two tiles were missing from the full panel when it arrived at Leighton House: a parrot perched to the left of the fountain and a tile featuring a hare, directly below. William De Morgan created two replacement tiles which can be distinguished from the originals by the slightly different colourings and a crackle glaze.
